I have a 2006 Chev express 1500H (AWD) 59K original miles, auto trans, 5.3L.
Sometimes the DRL stay on after turning off ignition and have to disconnect battery.
Sometime they don't come on at all (which is ok).
Sometimes they work like they should and go off after 20+ seconds after ignition is off.
There is no relay or fuse in the 2 fuse boxes dedicated to DDRL. I also looked under dash on drivers side and could find on relay.
Is this part of the Vehicle Control Module, if so where is it located.
I did not check for codes on OBD, if I need to what codes to look for?
Thanks for your help!
To fix the DRL problem, I replaced the Hazard Warning and Turn Signal module. Some mechanics call it the Light Control Module. GM part # 25746427, got OEM part from Amazon for $45.
This module controls the 1) Turn signals, 2) Hazard lights, 3) Brake lights and 4) DRL.
On the Chev Express, module is under dash right side of steering wheel. Take off lower cover, look up from bottom and it is held on by a spring clip that is part of the module.
Thanks for your help.
Power is supplied by the Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher
It sounds to me like you have have flaky short to ground somewhere like the flasher unit, park brake switch, or headlamp switch.
Also if a turn signal lamp doesn't work, neither will the DRL.
