park gear doesn't hold vehicle

Hi Mr. Kilmer, hope you are well. I just bought a used 2012 chevy express 1500 van 5.3l v8. It has 317000 kms on it but runs very smoothly , no problems with gear shifting at all. But there are two issues with it as follows:

1. If van is in park it rolls ( very slowly) doesn't matter hand brake engaged or disengaged.

2. Engine light on , code P0700.

I am looking forward to your valuable suggestions.

Regards

2. Engine light on , code P0700.

This is a generic transmission trouble code. Its presence indicates that you need to scan the system with a professional diagnostic tool that can interface the transmission module.

You should have had the van inspected and scanned before you bought it.

you can check the shift linkage to see if it's damaged. Otherwise the transmission needs to be diagnosed by a professional (and likely removed). With that many kilometres it's probably worn out anyway.

sounds like you need to adjust your parking brake, by turning the star adjuster wheel. This is an important safety issue.
