Hello,
It's an old car - replacement fuel pump costs 600$ and I would be more than happy to save that amount if I can. What solvents/detergents can I use that will clean the inside(it's sealed so I can't open it) but not damage the plastic turbine? I read that most of the time it's sulfates that build up.
It’s always a good idea to mention the year, make, model & mileage of your vehicle, in the opening post.
your fuel or gas tank must be really dirty
What car be this for? You saying that the actual fuel pump is $600? Or is that parts and labor? Most of those additives for fuel are kinda like snake oils and completely unnecessary. But I guess you can try STP Ultra 5-in-1 Fuel System Cleaner. Another option would be seafoam but I wouldn't personally recommend this route.
