Hi! What are my options for discontinued gm parts? I have a 2012 Buick Lacrosse with the GXS Hiper front struts. The struts are no longer made, i have searched endlessly for part # 19210810 or 506-1073. I called Gm parts today and the guy told me to google because he sees searches but i told him, yes they come up but every link says discontinued. I have messaged ad delco, no response yet. I cant cross reference it to another brand. and in the end, i said am i suppose to drive with no struts???? what do i do? start a class action lawsuit lol?

That is the macphearson strut the strut i have equipped is the gxs hiper strut , you can see photo here with differences
https://gmauthority.com/blog/2010/03/buick-lacrosse-hiper-strut/
so the strut that feeds in to the strut fork on the gxs hiper strut model does not have that lower bolt attachment which is the ac delco part # 19210810 or 506-1073 (google that to look at it) also the sway bar linkage is towards the back not the sides like the one in picture you posted. its so complicated and i asked the dealer well what do i need to do convert the whole assembly to the macphearon??
Karen did you ever find your struts? I'm having the same problem with my 2012 Buick Lacrosse. I was told it was disconnected and to trade my car in. I only have 58,600 miles and don't want to trade it.
Karen has not been here in at least a year so is unlikely to answer. You should post a new topic.
@chucktobias no need for a new topic. All the answers are here.
the part number for this one is 506-1073 which is what you provided.
A quick search of the forum shows this topic has already been discussed.

Hello, Thank you for the reply. The ebay link has been sold out for a while and as for the Monroe replacement it is not a compatible part. The Part I need has a straight cylinder with no mounting brackets as it sits into the knuckle. So that Monroe will not work. Thank you though.
Hello,

According to this supplier website, that part was discontinued. Superseding part numbers are listed.
An internet search of that part number brought up an ebay vendor that claims to have it. In general we do not recommend buying critical parts from ebay, so caveat emptor.

The only other car I know of that used the GM hiper strut other than Buick was the very low volume 2010 and 2011 Saab 9-5 manufactured before the company went bankrupt. (That car was built on the same platform as the LaCrosse.)
I can't find any definitive interchange information with a short search, but there seem to be a few of the Saab strut kits kicking around so here's a link for possible further research:

Go to Rock Auto, put in your car and search under suspension.
I did, all those are for the mcphearson strut, i have the cxs hiper strut, its is different. the sway bar linkage tab is towards the back and the strut doesnt have the bottom piece on it, because it goes inside the strut fork.
This is the strut fork on the car
so the strut is a tube and goes inside that.
here is the strut that is discontinued and out of stock everywhere

We just showed you the OEM part based on the part number you supplied, from two different places. What is the problem? If you can't buy the insert (?), buy the assembly and install it.
