Greetings Scotty, enjoy your youtube
have a 2014 Chevy Cruze CTD 272,000 miles. Been a pretty good car once a def kit came out from Fleece that allowed me to get rid of the god awful def system which was a constant and expensive source of problems. Did that at 100,000 miles. Since then it has just been an alternator,a/c compressor, and belts.
Now the turbo has gone out and I want to know what precautions I need to take to install a new turbo. One issue I have is that because of poor design or quality and torque involved with the oil drain plug, the hex head immediately strips. Hence, being on my back and an old fart, I can not remove it at this time. All I can do is suck all the oil out I can via the dipstick tube. I have also been using a 5w-30 oil. Should I revert back to the 0-30 oil after putting new turbo on, and what other things should I do before putting turbo on?
Once I get car running I'll take to shop with lift in hopes they can get drain plug out and replace with a non gm better quality.
I would revert to the old oil and perhaps you could buy a better drain plug some guys make stainless steel ones that work great

Thanks, do I need to somehow oil the turbo and spin it before putting it in?
