Dealer programming needed when replacing ABS module?

I have to replace the ABS module on my 2009 Toyota Camry. some people are telling me I still have to take it to the Dealership (5-650.00$$) , is this true or can I just reset the codes or follow the use of a 10W 1K resistor connected to the battery terminals as You showed in another video. I don't have $5-650.00 for them to do???. Please reply ASAP. Thank you and anyone who can correctly and confidentially answer this question for me

No, you don't need to take it to a dealer. You're only changing the module and won't be disconnecting any brake lines so you shouldn't need a scan tool either.

Make sure you use the car's VIN to source the module to avoid problems with new parts matching old ones. (it happens a lot). Here's a video for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPife7OD9LY

Also, you don't need a resistor - after you disconnect the battery just hold down on the brake pedal, turn on some lights, etc.. wait a bit until all/any 'residual electricity' is gone.

Yes you do. Computer modules usually need to be programmed to the vehicles VIN and configuration or they won't work.
