I’m in the military and stationed in Japan. With the rising prices of JDM classics I pulled the trigger and bought a 2000 Nissan Skyline R34 GTT RWD with the intention of bring it back to America when it hits its age of 25 years old. It was originally an automatic but swapped to a manual by the previous owner. The mileage 94000km. Since it was bought it an an auction I went into this blindly. Now when I got it checked out by a garage to replace the clutch, timing belt, fluids etc. they told me that the engine is a 2.6L (which I knew) but the transmission is 2.0.. should I be worried? Anything to look out for or not do in this car. Thank you ahead of time.
Also I/we don’t know what other car the transmission came from. All I know it’s from some other Nissan
If there's any car that needs the best available clutch/trans/differential, it's the Skyline. I'd look for the best available hardware where you are. Here's are some Skyline-specific forums - I'd bet this would be a major topic area.
