- Hi, I have a 2005 chevy tahoe with 150k miles on it. Whenever i put my car in drive, “drivers door ajar” pops up in the message center. This would not bother me but periodically as i am driving the message will flash on and off rapidly with the chime and usually accompanied with the doors locking and unlocking many times. The car alarm will also randomly go off occasionally. I replaced the BCM, but did not fix the problem. Lastly, when i replaced the 4x4 selector buttons for an unrelated issue, the problem went away for a week but then came back. Thinking it must be a wiring problem somewhere but I dont know where to start. Any thoughts?
Might try replacing door close switch

Most likely the wires in the door harness are fatigued and broken. Right where it bends back and forth when the door opens and closes.
