Scotty, My 2019 F150 has the feeling of slack in the drive line. I can feel the transmission engage but then I feel the rear end engage. I’ve checked the u-joints, no slack there.
I saw something about the chrome plating wearing off the driveshaft spline. Could this be my issue?
the feeling of slack in the drive line.
Can you be more specific?
chrome plating wearing off the driveshaft spline
I have never heard of this. Why would there be chrome on the driveshaft?
Is it 2WD or 4WD?
Anyway it's the dealer's problem since warranty covers powertrain.
It feels like the rear end engages after the transmission not simultaneously.
I saw a video on YouTube where a 2017 f150 had this issue and the issue was that the rear driveshaft splines had a chrome plating that had wore off. They had to purchase a new drive shaft to fix the issue.
Would this maybe be covered by my extended warranty?
Would this maybe be covered by my extended warranty?
There's no way for us to know. We don't know what kind of extended warranty you have, what its coverage limitations are, or even who the provider is. You would have to read your warranty contract or contact the warranty company to find out.
