hi, i have a 2006 lexus es330. one of the footwell lights went out so i wanted to replace it, but it turned out that there's no socket for the bulb, it's all one piece with the bulb soldered in the circuit. i tried removing the bulb and tried to solder a new led bulb in place, but the new light won't turn on. the led bulb has a polarity bias, and i marked the ground of the circuit to make sure polarity was correct. how do i go about properly installing the new bulb? i don't just want to replace with the same factory ones since they're incadecent and don't provide much light at night. tia

I recommend replacing with the same bulb. If you need additional lighting then put in another fixture.

You have to use the factory incandescent.
