There aren't a lot currently on the market. Of the ones currently on the market I would say that the best one is probably the Nissan Leaf. The worst are probably the Teslas. I wouldn't touch a Tesla with a 10 foot pole.

Just wait for Toyota to come up with one

The only one I would buy would be a Tesla. I'm not an Elon fan, he's a narcissist for sure, but I like their setups the best.

First off, I would only lease an EV today.  That being said, I like the Tesla’s the best and they have been doing this since at least 2008 (they started selling MY2012) so their hardware is more true and tried plus they have a very good nationwide charging network for road trips.  I’d go with the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus (their ‘cheapest’ option).  Yes they have quality issues which is why I would lease;  plus for long term who knows what the future will hold so no point in buying.  It also should not be your only vehicle, since a Tesla or any EV is not good in all situations - we are not there yet.

... I maybe mistaken... But isn't the Chevy bolt currently first in class when it comes to not-a-tesla ev? Nissan leaf and the mustang both have that notably horrible dial shifter thing...

@Adrian Toyota has that prius prime as well but not as good with range but safety instead? I'm not tripping am I?

@billybob I mean a new tesla is the same price as a new Lexus, seems like if this dude got the money (45k) for a new mach E then why not a Tesla? I hate elon as much as the next guy but genuinely curious. They fixed most of their problems with say the melting goo screen and whatnot.

The Prius Prime is not a pure EV vehicle.

@DayWalker I see. Thanks for letting me know

One of the advantages of electric vehicles is their simplicity. Unfortunately that doesn't apply to Tesla because they went out of their way to make their cars needlessly complicated for no reason. Also they will not share any repair information whatsoever. They are not even listed in Alldata and Mitchell so everything has to be done at the dealer. Plus they also have poor build quality.

Google is helpful sometimes, there are so many out there I couldn't list them all.

The first that comes to my mind is the Nissan Leaf. Actually a pretty decent car.

Here is the full list if you want: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_production_battery_electric_vehicles

In US: https://www.caranddriver.com/shopping-advice/g32463239/new-ev-models-us/

Also, what about Tesla? Did we just forget about it?  Hyundai Ioniq... Jaguar I pace... Pile of junk I-Miev... The Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen fuel cell EV

If you can, wait until Toyota jumps into the fray. I'm holding off to see where this whole ev, fuel cell, whatever?  technology will go before I jump in.

I would say none. Their drawbacks are severe and their prices too high. It's still cheaper and more convenient to drive a conventional gasoline-burning vehicle even though the electrics requires only minimal maintenance.
