excess drivetrain movement: 2016 vw gti, dsg

I have a 2016 vw gti with the 2 litre turbo.  I dive it hard and it has 30k miles on it.

Of late I really can feel the drivetrain move around under heavy acceleration under turbo boost, you can just feel something under the hood 'shift' positions, it pulls strong and hard.  When I let off the gas you can really feel everything unload and the drivetrain 'move back' into place.

Could this be motormounts already at only 30k miles?  How would I check that?

There’s a few ways, though if the engine starts to move up significantly, before the rest of the vehicle (while you jack up the vehicle), that’s a pretty good sign.

Also check all your transmission mounts, while you’re at it.
