[Solved] Excessive Blow By

2006 Dodge Charger 5.7L Hemi has excessive blow by. The oil mostly spouts out oil through the oil cap breather. This leaks through to the air filter. One cylinder is getting oil because spark plugs have oil and ruins them almost immediately. OBDII code is misfire. Replaced PCV valve with cheap model and seems to have helped but not much.

Your engine is most likely worn out. Do a wet vs. dry compression test to confirm excessive piston ring wear.

Kind of short on tools/facilities/funds. Any chance that I could get anything for body, tranny? Interior is great. Thanks for any recommendations.

Better yet, do a leak down test and find out exactly where the compression is being lost; valves, piston rings, both.

Do a wet and dry compression test. The piston rings are probably shot and the engine needs rebuilt.

Likely it is worth more as parts than as a complete vehicle, but without the ability to disassemble it then store, sell and ship the parts that's not going to work out. Other than that to get more than scrap value at a junkyard you'd probably need to find someone who has a 5.7 Hemi engine and needs a complete car to put it in.

If it still runs and drives, drive up to a Carmax or a Carvana and cross your fingers..
