1994 Honda accord wagon EX F22B1 2.2 VTEC engine w/ 180K miles. Chatter Rattle noise when cold or hot from 1400-2000 RPM. Noise either doesn’t occur after 2000RPM or is faded by other engine noise. My initial thoughts are that the valves need to be adjusted. Sort of sounds like a bunch of cam lobes hitting lifters at the wrong time or maybe just wear. {black}:starryeyes:

When did you last adjust the valves? It's supposed to be done every 30,000 miles.
Haven’t adjusted them at all. I bought feeler gauges and I’ll pick up a cover gasket and see what I can do tomorrow. Eric the car guy has videos of adjustment on the same engine so I’ll use that as a guide.
