Hi Scotty,
I am wondering your opinion of the 2006 Volvo XC70. The car is a 2006 and had 145,000 miles on it, it is a souther car so It has very minimal rust. the car also has had one owner, and had no reported accidents or damage. Is there anything I should look out for? how much should I pay for it ? and what else would you recommend?
First car, get ready for the problems that you will encounter. It’s an old car, make sure there are parts available in your country and not expensive. Maybe get a toyota?
@munchkin
Ok thanks
Do your research on the car, look at TSBs, user reviews, etc. Volvos are generally decent cars, parts are moderately expensive - but if you take care of them, they can be reliable. See if you can get the service records from the owner, if not - walk away. You don't know the service history, you don't know if it's been taken care of or abused.
I personally would own any Hyundai / KIA, mainly for their engines, cheap parts, easy to work on and the fact I and my whole family never had any serious problems with these cars.
Toyota's and Hondas are good, but they aren't my type.
Like I said, do your research...find out what you want, and what you need.
