When do I change the oil on a new car

Hey guys 👋. In December I purchased a new 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. V6 and 8 speed auto. I’ve got it up to a little over 2K miles. I plan on getting an oil change every 5k miles and doing the transmission every 30k. My question is, does the first oil change matter most? Should I get an oil change sooner? Depending on the replies, I think I may get the first one done at 2.5k miles, but I also don’t want to throw good money away after having already spent this much on a Jeep. Thanks in advance.

Does the owner’s manual indicate to change the first oil sooner than 5,000 miles?  If not, then I would just stick to 5,000 miles and then every 5,000 miles thereafter.

Check your manual.

The "break in oil" hasn't been a thing for a long time. However, I did my first oil change in my WRX at 3k, even though they call for 6k intervals. I now stick to 5-6k intervals.
