Fluid Changes for a 2005 Toyota Camry V6 SE with 240,000 miles

One of the best cars I have ever owned.  My 2005 Toyota Camry SE still runs like new - I have been consistent with the oil change maintenance, as well as the timing belts (every 100k) brakes and tires when they are needed.  The car still runs great, and I want to make sure it keeps going strong.  My question - I have never had any other fluid in the car serviced including the brake fluid, power steering trans fluid, Coolant.  Approaching 250k miles and 20 years - is this something I should have done, or am I best to leave good enough alone?

Second but lined thought - the car starts right up, runs well - should I have the spark plugs, valves and seals done?

If it were mine, I would replace every fluid in the car - oil, coolant, trans, differentials, brake fluid, clutch (if you have one) washer fluid, power steering, etc.

You're asking now at 250k?

best to leave good enough alone

I don't understand why people are so nervous about doing basic maintenance. If you don't maintain something, it will fail. Simple as that.

It's a shame Toyota doesn't print this stuff in manuals any more.

  1. When is the last time the spark plugs were changed? I would not worry about valves and seals if there is no present issue . To air on the side of caution I would change the transmission fluid and filter if possible and save the old fluid incase a problem happens with the fresh fluid.
