My Ford Explorer is automatic 200,000 plus miles. I turn it on and it’s hard to accelerate the rpm’s go up but barely accelerates and sometimes the rpm’s go up and does it by itself while parked. What’s the issue ?

Your transmission is probably shot. When is the last time fluid and filter were changed?

I don’t quite remember not long ago but it all started because a pipe to the coolant reservoir popped it cause all the antifreeze to spill. I got that fixed but after that’s when this problem started a funky smell comes out and a little bit of smoke

Engine revving up and car not moving when in gear means transmission trouble. On top of that did the engine overheat when you lost coolant? If so check for blown head gasket as well.

I’m sure it did I had to cut it off smoke started coming out. After that I got it fixed and took it for a spin it was great out of nowhere I just started having the issue of it being hard to accelerate

It turns on great the only problem is that and the service engine soon is on?I’m trying to get it fixed I been having it for 6 years never had a problem till now

Don't be surprised if it needs a transmission (not a surprise on a 20-year-old Ford), but it really needs to be diagnosed by an expert.
