Hi Scotty! I’ve been watching your channel for years. Enjoy it! I just had a question, I drive a 2010 Ford Explorer XLT with the 4.0 V6 engine. It has 123,300 miles on the odometer. I just threw on a fresh set of tires all around. Took it to a mechanic and he said it’s a solid vehicle all around that I’ve taken great care of it. Of course it’s not fancy like today’s vehicles. I’ve added nothing aftermarket on it. Everything is original. Hope this doesn’t sound dumb but does my oil need to be changed even though the message center in the gauge cluster said I still have like 50% oil life left. I checked the oil and it looks "ok".
Also what are your thoughts on a 2010 Ford Explorer. Thanks Scotty!
If that message bother you, reset it now and whenever you change the oil:
Also, make sure you service the transmission. Check the FAQ for more information.
I would not trust that oil monitor system I would just change the oil every 5,000 miles or so with full synthetic oil
