My husband recently passed away and he had a 2014 Ford F150 XL it has 41,000 miles
I was driving it the other day it has been cold here but went shopping with my sister and when we got back in truck and I started it she turned the AC on. I told her we didn't need it then we started hearing a knocking noise coming from behind dash. I turned the truck off and it kept knocking. I got home turned it off and was outside with my dog and it started knocking again. My neighbor looked and said it is something to do with the AC...any ideas and how much it might cost to repair it...
If I’m not mistaken, this is a known problem with the blend door actuators behind the dashboard in Ford trucks.

Ok thank you
No worries. If you haven’t read the link I posted above, the repair estimate is a few hundred dollars to fix. If you don’t want to visit the Ford dealer, try to find a good honest mechanic in your area who may be able to fix it for less. Sorry for your loss.
I agree with @InthrustWetrust and Unfortunately, fixing the blend door actuator can be expensive since you need to open the dash.
