From Alfa Romeo to Toyota!

Hey Scotty,
Love the channel!  I recently flipped my Alfa Romeo lease (bought it for lease buyout price and then sold it for profit in this crazy car market).  I'm going to be getting my recently passed grandma's 2009 Rav 4 automatic 4 cylinder with 60k miles on it. She always did regular oil changes but I doubt she ever did anything like changing automatic transmission fluid, I've seen videos that say change it every 50 or 60k but don't know if I should since it's an older vehicle.  Any help on this and any other basic maintenance stuff I can knock out on my own would be great! Thanks!

You are in luck, Scotty recommends changing the transmission fluid every 60k (but more often for some other, troublesome CVTs).

You can download an owner's manual from Toyota's web site, and it will tell you all the maintenance items and when they are needed

Thanks, I'll go ahead and do that!

I'd go ahead and change the trans fluid, at 60K miles it won't be a problem.

If it has the 2AZ-FE 2.4L 4-cylinder engine keep an eye on the oil level since that engine is known for oil burning problems.

Thanks for the feedback! It's the 2.5 L which I've heard was a huge improvement so got lucky there!

Yes, the 2.5 is much better. Congrats on a great move! I just hope that, given the "reliability" of Alfas as they age, the buyer doesn't know where you live! :silly:
