This isn't a question of how to fix the no start condition, it has been resolved.
2011 Nissan Rogue S 2.5L 147k
My situation is while trying to diagnose my crank/no start (started with spark and found spark was good), during one start the engine had started to giddy up which led me to think I had a fuel system issue. The next attempt with a gas pedal fully depressed got results and got the car to turn over but then stall after two seconds. I tried this again but held the gas down until the rpms climbed a bit more and this allowed the car to start and stay running with no issues during a test drive or turning the car off and on again. I had tried to prime the fuel pressure a few times to make sure it was good to go before cranking but that didn't help right away.
My question: What could cause it to not start like that but then run just fine after?
#2 How could I better diagnose this in the future?
I replaced spark plugs (were getting fouled and didn't hurt to maintain but don't want to be first step every time), tested with an adjustable spark tester, and gapping was good. All fuses looked good and were traded just in case.
sounds like a flaky fuel pump.
You can very fuel supply problems by spraying starter fluid into the intake.
