Well, I'm not THAT old so iconic vehicles from my time would be:

1. 03 - 04 Terminator Cobras

2. 03 - 04 Mach 1

3. 1998 - 2002 Trans Am WS6

4. 2004 - 2006 GTO

5. C5 Corvette Z06

6. 2003 - 2004 Ford Lightning

I'd say that's pretty much my list.

My time is also 2006 to present. I would say Chrysler Pacifica(start of luxury minivans, start of hybrids, first plug in hybrid minivan), Raptor (new off-road class for pickup), Toyota Venza(revival of midsize SUVs), Honda CRV Hybrid(Honda's first Hybrid SUV), 2021 Toyota Sienna (Toyota's first hybrid minivan), and Honda Ridgeline (underrated pickup truck with different purposes).

The more complicated - the more problems..

@Sasasse Yeah I know. But then again, it's a fun question here. I just answer of what cars are evolutionary without having the tendency of buying those cars new.

… ’72 BMW 2002 tii: What a gem! Driving one all day never made you tired. Every corner, every road sweeping curve made you grin from ear to ear! In fact, any 2002 from ’68-’76 was simply a great car. Still is, if you can find one, …

Back in my day:  The DeLorean time machine, Buick Grand National GNX, Ferrari F40, Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini Countach.

I forgot to include the McLaren F1.

DeLorean because of BTTF.

Pontiac Trans Am, AKA the KITT car from Knight Rider.

Both the original Beetle and the Beetle revival.

The first Civic, because it achieved emissions standards and MPGs.

The first generation Dodge Caravan, created the minivan segment.

The second generation Prius, it gave Prius its mass market appeal. And put Toyota on its hybrid dominance.

The Supra from Fast and the Furious.  The movie put that JZ engine on the map.

The first generation Forester, it unwittingly  created the crossover category, and when Subaru finally found its identity.

The original HUMMER when it was a military vehicle, but Arnold Schwarzenegger had one.

The mini. Both the OG and the initial revival are iconic. Heck the design hardly changes.

Porsche 911. That thing barely changes.in design.
