Hey Uncle Scotty,

What do you think about buying new cars these days when electrification is just around the corner? Does it still make sense to buy a car now or better wait for more pure EVs to roll out? And why is Toyota not selling a lot of EVs just yet? Are they waiting for mass producing solid-state batteries before they go full force with their EV launches?

Thanks!

They can take my 98 4Runner when they pry my cold dead body out of the driver’s seat.

Within the next several years as car companies transition from sourcing EV components from other companies to making their own EV components in house we'll start to see a change.

EVs are still in the first phrases. It will take some time for a full transition. We still need diesels to haul our daily needs...and also to deliver the EVs LOL

It's all being forced. There is very little market demand for electric vehicles, it's being created artificially. I won't be buying one regardless.

Yes it still makes sense to buy a new car.

Toyota is focusing on hybrids, because they smart and they know it makes more sense.
