Hi Scotty,
i have a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE with 100,000 miles. Recently I’ve noticed a gas/spray paint smell after I drive for a little bit and park in my garage. The smell stays for about a day and if I don’t drive it again then it is gone. There is no gas leaking from the car and the car isn’t left to idle in the garage so I don’t think it is an exhaust problem.
What could be the cause of this smell.
Probably the 20-year-old hoses in your evap system are deteriorating.
replaced the vapor canister vent valve.
vent valve should normally be open anyway, and it's behind you.
Purge valve is the one that causes smells under the hood (which then comes inside):

I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra with 102,000 miles. I recently had a strong gas smell inside the car and replaced the vapor canister vent valve. I no longer have the smell inside the car when driving but when I leave it parked in my garage I can smell the gas after a few hours. There is no gas leaking out to the ground.
Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Sorry, forgot I had previously asked.
