HI Scotty! Thank you for all the great information that you provide us with. Question: I have a 2018 Kia Sedona 3.3 cid V6 with 12.000 mi. bought new. Just realized that I have "GDI". Could you tell us why you're not a fan of "GDI" and any other thoughts you may have on this topic.

Many thanks, Wood M.

More stress to the engine, more wear and tear.

More carbon build up.

While gas is used as fuel, gas also is a good cleaner. GDI stands for gasoline direct injection. So the gas is injected directly into the cylinder. Great, right?

Nope. Carbon tends to build up on the valves. With port injection, you have the gas cleaning the valves by happenstance. So no carbon build up.

But with GDI, gas doesn’t even tock the valves. So carbon builds up.
