Hey scotty how can i make my 1998 suburban with a 454 bigblock more fuel efficient without cutting power?
You get t a heavy car with big engine and you should expect it to be a gas guzzle. Drive it conservatively to save gas.
You're never going to get decent MPG. It's a 454 big block in a super heavy Suburban.
Go easy on the right foot. That's literally all you can do.
Assuming you keep up with recommended engine maintenance, proper tire pressure helps with the MPG. I figure you have load range E tires because a 1998 Suburban with a 7.4L engine has a 3/4 or 1 ton chassis. The sticker on the driver's door jam might say front tires 45 psi rear tires 80 psi. I run 65 psi front and back on my '96 C2500 because I think there's more weight on the front tires because of the engine than the rear tires because the bed is empty.
Yup. Good tires, properly inflated. Careful alignment maybe. That’s the biggest things
