I have a 2018 Ford Escape Titanium with 34,000. Recently I notice coolant was low and took it to the dealership. They told me there was a bulletin about coolant leaking into the engine and they're going to replace with a new engine. At first it sounded far fetch, because I never heard a car company doing that. I heard of chaging the block, gasket, spark plugs etc. Factory warranty covered that part. However they recommend a transmission flush, which I paid out of pocket. My questions are to do an engine rebuild, don't you have to access the transmission. Since hoses are going to the transmission to the coolant. Second not even 24 hours after the engine rebuild and transmission flush. I'm getting a red flashing light stating transmission fault service now. Did someone at the dealership screwed up? Should I ask for my money back regarding the transmission flush since there are issues? In your opinion what can it be. Thank you for your time.
Did you read the bulletin? I wonder if coolant was getting into the transmission.
Anyway, the flashing light is their responsibility.
No and they won't give me details. I came home and Googled issues with EcoBoost engine. Apparently there is a class action lawsuit going on. If you have 2013-2019 Ford Escape, 2013-2019 Ford Fusion, 2015-2018 Ford Edge, 2017-2019 Lincoln MKC, 2017-2019 Lincoln MKZ. Stop everything have your vehicle checked out now. My new car might need a new engine. Theres's a class-action lawsuit just filed says that the 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter, and 2.0-liter EcoBoost engines leak coolant into cylinders.
well they were going to lose a bunch of money giving you a new motor. With an unnecessary tranny flush, they can try to claw some of that money back.
No. They do not need to drain the transmission fluid when changing the engine.
Take it right back to the dealer for the transmission service light.
