[Solved] GM PCV Hose Replacement

Topic starter

Doing some routine maintenance on my 2015 Chevy Silverado WT 4.3 V6, 117k miles, automatic. Done just about everything suggested except the PCV valve. I purchased the AC Delco PCV valve and hose replacement. I went to disconnect the old hose and found that it wouldn't come loose. I tried depressing the gray tabs on the ends of the hose but still wouldn't budge. Am I being too sensitive with it? Is there a trick to get this to release without damaging anything? Trying to be delicate since its just rubber and plastic.

Well no surprise. It's a 9-year-old Chevy and the stuff just falls apart. It's cheap plastic and rubber. Try wiggling and wiggling if you can't get it off by a replacement one. They do harden up over time being on an engine and they are pretty cheaply made

Turned out I just needed to wait until the morning when the engine was at its coldest. Damn hose came right off. Thanks for your time and guidance. You continue to inspire me not to let someone charge me 150 dollars an hour for something I can do at home.
