Just recently drew a vacuum on AC system, took some gunk out the system. I removed the filter canister and opened the lines up for flushing. Workshop manual said “add 265 grams of oil”, seems like a lot. What’s your take??  FERRARI 360 (your favorite) LOL

Changing oil is pure gas work the only thing you can actually do is if you remove a part you empty whatever oil came out and add that to the system otherwise you would have replaced everything in the system and put a full factory load of oil because anything is just guess work if you don't do that ultimately

Well you can empty your compressor see what it has left. If you plan on putting oil in then all new oil us best. And personally I prefer flushing the compressor out of the car make sure it’s clean. Lookup a replacement prefilled compressor see how much they come with. Not all the time but a good 75% they are usually prefilled with correct amount for your car.
