2017 GMC 6.2 Denali 1500 PU. Being quoted $2500-$3000 to replace front struts. Would you replace these crazy expensive parts with same or forget the over engineered parts for simpler struts? If so will I have to deal with error messages to ECU

You can do them yourself if you're handy. Rent a spring compression tool, so you don't impale yourself. If you have a Haynes or Chilton automotive manual, that would be great. If not, https://www.amazon.com/Chevrolet-Silverado-Sierra-Models-Haynes/dp/1620923505/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=3PAM22LTRWZPB&keywords=haynes+manual+chevrolet+Silverado+2017&qid=1704476461&sprefix=haynes+manual+chevrolet+silverado+2017%2Caps%2C101&sr=8-1
You'll also need a torque wrench.
Either go OEM or KYBs. Don't use struts from AutoZone or any place like that.
do you think the ride is a lot better?
I mean ... if you only need to spend that much money every 7 years, then it might be worth it (to you).
