Good deal or not after repairs

I recently got a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.3L V6 with 94000 miles on it for $3000. Got new tires for $700, transmission fluid change and a new valve cover gasket with a tune up (the gasket leaked oil) for $1200 at a family owned mechanic. It ended up costing me around $5000. Do you think it was a good deal on the car and the repairs?

Search the site for "Hyundai" and you'll see that we do not recommend that brand (or Kia) here due to numerous very serious quality and reliability problems.

However, 2009 was prior to the time when Hyundai quality took ia real nosedive. With that relatively low mileage it may well last a while if you take care of it.
