What car would u recommend to a teenager for a first car. 😁 love your videos btw very helpful for future reference
What is the price point?
I bought both my teens Toyota Corollas, 2006 and 2009. Both were around $4000 and under 150,000 miles. They continue to amaze me. It's been a year now and had one ignition coil go bad on the 2009 but other than that they have been great running cars.
2001 Taurus
Butt ugly.

I would skip on the early years of that gen of Taurus🙃
If you have more more money, I would recommend a 2015-2017 Toyota Camry or a newer Toyota Corolla.
But I assume you are talking about older cars. 2003-2006 Toyota Camry is a good choise I like the XLE models very comfortable practical and reliable vehicles. 2004-2008 Toyota Corolla. 2010-2011 Honda Civic. These are well made cars. In the lower price points you are not getting the safety of a Volvo but these are still relatively safe. 2013-2015 Honda Civic. 2009 Ford Fusion. If you want an SUV consider a 2009-2012 Toyota RAV4. 2011-2013 Toyota Corolla. I would stick to Toyotas.
> 1991 (for airbags), something you don’t mind getting busted up. IMO you don’t want full insurance coverage - for mine it costs > 2x for that (e.g. $2600 for the same old Corolla vs $1200 for just collision). With the cost savings you can literally buy another car...
I see my idiot neighbors buying their kids newer cars than they have and know the insurance is insane let alone watches them back into mailboxes, etc
My son takes incredible care of his older Corolla but has managed to back it into my boat trailer and a concrete barrier in 1 year. He’s also learned the skill of body work... 😉
How new? Like 10 years old "new" or brand new "new"?
10-15 years old. IMO 150-200k miles on a Toyota, Honda, Pontiac vibe, crown Vic, etc. The crown Vic is a huge car...I like the smaller ones for fuel and easy to move. Stay away from Lexus, Acura, infinity unless you know the insurance rates. A g35 would have been 50% more than a maxima even though it’s roughly the same car...
Our first car was a eclipse gt manual and the rates were 50% more than the regular eclipse as it was a “gt”...it’s slower than the Corolla 😉
A bus pass. Insurance rates are expensive for teenagers. I say have the teenager work a service job for at least six months before helping them buy any car.
My first car was a Yugo from 1986, it made a great rollable garden greenhouse
Get a Toyota or Honda or if you like big cars, get a Crown Vic.
Crown Vic excellent choice imo... will be safe, cheapish to fix and teach other lessons to the kids ; )
That depends on your budget and what you like. You like style, speed, tuning, and attention? I'd go for a mitsubishi evo lancer 9 but hard to find. If you want to stay on the cheaper side, I'd go for either the acura integra or civic si. If youre more into family cars, rav4 or CRV are quite reliable. If you really want to know what you'll love, take a few cars for a test drive.
A Lexus GS or IS 350 would be something you could consider!
