I'm sixteen and I'm looking to get my first car. I don't have a preference really, as long as it drives well and looks decent, and maybe has 4 wheel drive since I live somewhere that gets snowy. I have about 10,000 dollars to use right now and I'll have around 15,000 soon (but of course I'll want the cheapest option). My dad doesn't know much about cars and he's looking at used car dealerships. I've seen some of Scotty Kilmer's videos today and he says they're not that great. Is there somewhere I can look other than a used car dealership? What car is a good car to get right now? Any tips?
Brands: Most Toyota’s. Many Honda’s. Assuming they check out.

Used Subarus are worth a look. I had a ~13 yr old Subaru with 160K miles and drove it for 20K miles before it died. Sounds like other people had picked more reliable Subarus but I swear by the all wheel drive (I also always used winter tires), it got me through Northeasters and through places where Jeeps go. In retrospect, that car had 5 previous owners----what was I thinking?
In general, stay away from short previous ownership periods or lots of owners. Complete and regular maintenance records are great. Get an independent inspection from a reputable mechanic before making the purchase final. If the seller doesn't let you do that, walk away.
You could check within your network to see if someone is selling.
