Good value Used Truck

Hi Scotty

I am looking to buy a good used truck, preferably under $20k

Should I be staying away from trucks with mileage over 180k? And what is the oldest year I should look for?

I have been looking at the F150 and Tundra so far. I want a 4 door truck so I can also use as a family vehicle for camping weekends.

Are there any other brands I should look at

I own a 2015 Tacoma quad cab with 4.0 V6. 4WD. Love it cause I can fit as many as 5 people and it can tow up to 6300lbs. Already have 100k on it with "0" issues. Has the standard short bed but its fine for loading and carrying most things.

Thanks! I will take a look at those too

A Nissan frontier is also not bad at all for a midsize truck. The 4.0 v6 in those were great. Plus, if you like driving manuals, you could one with a stick as well. Or a 5 speed automatic that's been around for a while and has no issues. Pretty nice little truck. They are pretty cheap to get used and reliable. I believe the only major issue they had was on some models the ATF and coolant could mix due to Nissan not making the radiators right. So, if I got one I would personally replace the radiator before that happens. It might not have the name popularity of the other trucks but I think it's a great value for that price point. I feel Trucks these days are getting VERY expensive.
