Hi, I bought an Acura MDX 2012 with 160K miles.
The car has terrible MPG at under 15...
I used Lucas fuel additives and then a bottle of techron fuel system cleaner with no help.
I then read about PEA and decided to buy the Gumout bottles, since this car was never treated properly, would it be a terrible idea to use two (5oz) bottles in my tank at once?
Can it damage anything, or would it help since there's more concentration?
(I'm not just looking for better MPG, I'm aware this might not do anything to help, I either way want to clean the system)
Thanks
I think you've put enough cleaner through.
Have a look at the FAQ.
It won't damage anything but it probably won't do any good either. Scotty recommends the fuel system treatment sold by ATS Carbon Clean. However the best method is a machine that directly runs cleaner through the fuel rail and injectors.
How have you been driving lately? If you've been jackrabbit starting and stopping, going fast on the highway, etc. will definitely decrease your gas mileage.
You bought the car recently, have you checked the air filter?
If you do a google search, there are many other people asking the same type of questions for your vehicle. The fuel cleaner will not help, that's not the issue.
