Losing power on the highway

hello Scotty,
I love your videos. I'm having some issues with my 2018 Camry. It has been towed to the dealership 4 times. Because it would suddenly lose power on the highway and then the engine light would come on. The first time dealership changed the fuel pump for me, the second time they reprogrammed it, and the third time they replaced the purge valve.

The hardest part was that every time the engine light came on, it would go out on its own and the car would run normally again. The car loses power on the highway about every 2 months. The fourth time, the car lost power on the highway again and the dealership told me that their scan tool couldn't read any fault codes in my car system. I have a scan tool on my car at all times, the fault code is P107A2A. After 4 times towed to the dealership, I have no confidence that they will fix the car, although the car is still under warranty. I feel so tired to tow the car to the dealer again, again and again. It is very dangerous to lose power on the highway. I don't know what to do, it's very expensive to buy another car now. And my car is every 5000-mile oil change and only recently changed the transmission fluid. I'm a little reluctant to sell it. Thank you so much.

You are at their mercy unfortunately. Try taking it to a different dealership.

the first time I replaced a fuel pump at an Arizona dealership, then I moved to Dallas, a different dealership. I do not know should I try another one. Thank you.

Sure try another one.
Your only other choice is going to a mechanic and paying out of pocket.

Well I'm just taking a stab in the dark but I would guess that the main computer has a problem if the fuel pump actually did go bad it could have shorted the driver circuit making it weak and not sending power to the pump at certain periods of time. Obviously the guys at the dealers don't give a crap to analyze it but I would say the next step would be replacing the main computer

thank you so much,I will talk to the dealership

I went to a Toyota dealer today. They told me that they had taken the car apart and that they had formed a research team of 8 Toyota technical masters. Right now they were waiting for Toyota engineers to come to provide technical support because they had never had this problem before. This is a hard case. Their big fancy scan tool could not find the code P107A2A in the first 3 times, but my scan tool always shows that code. The 4th time, their scan tool found this code. And This is going to be a study case, and they guarantee that this problem won't come up again. They will provide me with a rental car as soon as possible as we may have to spend a lot of time studying my car.

It is time to find an honest, independent mechanic.  The dealership is incompetent and not interested in diagnosing your problem, which is typical.

A lemon law lawyer will talk to me today. I think this will be their last chance to fix this car.

Good for you!
