Should I keep my hail damaged car

I have a 2000 4x4 jeep XJ (180k miles)and a

2006 honda cr-v, 150k miles

both are great suv’s, but they both got hail damage in the same storm…i talked my way up from 2k to 4k with the insurance settlement on the crv and chose to keep it, the jeep only had liability at the time, is there a point in trying to sell them privately or is the hail damage going to bring the price down so much i may as well just keep them?

Well, if the real question is should you go in to debt with a new car or continue with no car payments, that's up to you. As long as they run well, I'd just keep them until you've run them in to the ground. But, I'm not interested in car payments and that's just me.

Cosmetic hail damage is one of the things people look for when searching for a low-buck "bargain" vehicle. Although those old Cherokees are in demand you probably won't get much for a damaged one.
