Tahoe white smoke from exhaust

Hey Scotty love the channel!

Got a 2000 Chevy tahoe limited 5.7l about 180,000 + miles and white smoke is coming out the exaust. Mechanic says it’s the head gasket. It did overheat shortly, the extra plug in the radiator popped and coolant leaked out. Mechanic put a new plug in and it ran fine.

We then changed the radiator, hoses, water pump, oil change and transmission fluid change, even the fuel filter. The next day ran well to work then after work lots of white smoke came out the exhaust.

In a nut shell will blue devil fix the issue? Or would you recommend I do the head gasket repair or swap engines? Please help Scotty!

You better know what you’re doing, even then, it’s only a band aid solution and not a permanent fix -

There's no way to know until someone gets a gander at the severity of the leak. The less severe the leak, the better the chances. Of course, it's only a temporary fix.

The Car Wizard had a similar issue. It might be of some interest to you. I can't vouch for its efficacy. Results will vary, caveat emptor, and all of that. Just something to look at:

the video is about fixing an oil pressure light in worn Ford engines. It doesn't have much to do with head gasket failures.

Estimate the value of your vehicle. Get a quote on head gasket replacement/top end rebuild.

Decide if you want to put that money into the repair, or a new a vehicle.
