Hello, I own a 1986 Chevy Corvette 5.7L V8 L98 350, Automatic Mileage is 117,000 miles. It’s OBD1, I have a problem, So the car started to I guess misfire or like wobble while accelerating at any speed. Before it started doing that the only thing I really worked on it was the fuel pump & the idle control valve under the throttle body. I bought it 5 months ago & was running good I changed the Fuel Pump & Idle Control 3 months ago, but back to my question, so 1 month ago it started to misfire or like it would feel like the engine would wobble every time I would accelerate at any speed & if I kept on the accelerator it would just wobble or shake even more, so I decided to replace the Distributor (shaft & Cap & ignition coil), I replaced the EGR, the Fuel Pressure Regulator, spark plugs, wires, MAT Sensor, Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump Relay. So after that it started up fine, ran fine for a day then it happened again….. it stated to wobble again like before. So I did some research & found out about the Knock Sensor & the ESC Module, & I read the codes with a paper clip & it gave me code 44 which was the Lean Exhaust/ Oxygen Sensor so I watched your videos on how to change the knock & oxygen sensors (the knock sensor was old & broken where the connector goes on & the oxygen sensor was black & old)& I also changed out the connectors to new ones the old ones where quite baked. So I reset the computer by disconnecting the battery & then I read it again & it only gave me the 12 code not the 44 one anymore so the oxygen sensor was good now. So I drove it again & for 10 minutes it was good then yet again it started to wobble on acceleration. So I drove back home & well every day for 4 days I would park it for the night & then the first 10 minutes of the next day it would be fine until it starts to wobble again for the rest of the day until the next 10 minutes of the next day after parking it for the night. At this point I don’t know what else it could be, hopefully you can guide me on what it could be because I’m still at square one apparently, I live in Georgia so pretty close to Tennessee Nice to have you on the Eastern Coast.
But Thank You Scotty, You have inspired me to fix my own cars ever since I started watching you back in 2017, I’m 20 lol.
Having done what you have, I would start looking for a vacuum leak somewhere in the snake pit of vacuum hoses and connections you have.
Thanks 🙂 will check them.
