Car is making a loud continuous ticking/clicking sound on my 08 Nissan Altima when the car is turned on it and never comes off. What can this be?

Sounds like a bad plastic blend door actuator to me.

Thank you so much

You’re welcome & good luck!

That's a good video. He has the same Craftsman screwdriver that I have.

Is this your video, Joe?

is this something new? The fuel injectors on some engines always tick.

It’s been like this for 3 weeks now. I just gotten used to it and time flew by. I’m just hoping it’s nothing major.

when an engines starts to make a new sound you should get it checked out before it gets worse.

You’re absolutely right. I’ll take it to get it checked out.
I thought it could be the actuator but now I’m not so sure.

It’s a real loud tapping sound and it sounds like it’s coming from behind the dashboard

Thank you!

Is it coming from inside the car or from the engine?

It’s coming from inside the car like the dashboard where the AC/Heater controls it seems

Definitely sounds like a mode door actuator then. If you look under the dash while you operate them you should be able to see or feel which one is binding or where it’s coming from

Ok thank you will check

Can you post a video of it here?

Whack the dash on the vent areas.

Is that seriously going to work? Lol

Sometimes it actually works. You will laugh louder if you realize how much it will cost to open the dash.

That’s what I’m afraid of

Try my idea. It may fix the issue and it does not cost anything!
