Hey I am need of some advice. I don’t know how I did it, but I left my windows down overnight when it was raining and besides the floor and seats being wet. When I started the car. It starts fine Emergency lights were on. Took a couple presses to turn it off. 30 seconds after it starting accelerating a little more than how I was steppin on the Gas, it continued to accelerate even after I let go of the gas. Also when I shifted it to reverse, it was revving higher than normal. After about 10 minutes it ran fine, shifted fine, like nothing happened. My relatives think I’m crazy. They say that shouldn’t happen to a car that got wet overnight from the inside. Is this true? Could serious damage possibly occur if I drive it? Was the initial problems I had only temporary. I’m going to dry it as much as possible but I need input if this is more serious problem and will need to take things apart. Pls help I want the best outcome and prevent any future problems to save the car
Park it in a warm place for a day or so and hope it dries out the electricals that got wet. Check all your fuses too.
How much water got in? You're probably okay. Just make to dry everything as much as possible.
