Hello,
I have '01 Mercedes Automatic Petrol 360K km with a 2 liter Supercharger (kompressor) engine that hesitates to accelerate. Sometimes while I am in Drive (break depressed not moving) the car shakes like it wants to go and revs up and down, from time to time I experience rapid rpm change when I pressed the gas lightly, it goes from 1000 to like 1500 or 2000. I talked with my local mechanic he checked the trans liquid (dipstick) and its clean (changed it at 320K km) and suggested that my torque converted is about to go. I am not really planning to fix the car (the fix is more than 1500 and the car at its best day costs like 1000) and just want to know if I should seek another opinion and if he is correct how much time I have left before it leaves me stranded on the road.
Thanks 🙂
Well I would assume he was right. Either the tarc converter is going out or the transmission is. And it's only a wild guess is to how long the thing will last. But yeah I wouldn't put money into that thing but that age they're endless money pits
