Hesitation/rough acceleration 2019 Mazda 3

I have a 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback w/the 2.5l 4 cyl. and the 6 sp auto trans. 60K miles. no codes. For a couple of years now, I've had an acceleration issue when starting from a dead stop, accelerating from a slow roll and accelerating briskly (pretty much all scenarios). From a stop, the car will act as if it going to stall then accelerate hard, in all scenarios it surges then slows, surges then slows. Sometimes it will give a little "shudder" from a dead stop.

I've been to 2 different dealerships, the first one kept it for over 12 weeks total last year, relearned the trans, replaced a trans body valve, flush/fill several times, no fix. The other dealership told me it was normal, that it was the pump in the trans building pressure to shift (after telling me the shudder meant it needed a new trans).

I call BS on both dealerships but in the meantime, it is getting worse. I love everything about this car but the trans. Definitely not "zoom-zoom"! I think now it is a fuel delivery issue but I'm at my wit's end and of course it's out of factory warranty (I do have a Fidelity platinum warranty so I'm not too worried right now).

Any insight would be appreciated- your channel is fantastic! Thank you.

Kelly

A quick and easy thing to try would be to clean the MAF sensor and throttle body. Assuming that does not work stay away from dealers and chain shops, find a good independent mechanic that will do a proper diagnosis, including an analysis of live data.

Good luck with the aftermarket warranty. Most are junk, hopefully Fidelity is an exception.
