Hey Scotty, I’m looking for a good second car. Recently I’ve looked at a 07 V6 Camry with 94k miles and 05 Lexus ES 330 with 55k miles, which one would be the better pick?
- 07 V6 Camry or 05 ES 330 both are $7,000.
- Im mainly looking for the most reliable and affordable car over time.
Condition is everything, those cars are 14 and 16 years old and a lot can happen to a car in that time. All else being equal they should both be reliable but more than anything else when looking at cars in that age range you want one that has NOT been beaten to death, had no manintenance, been flooded, or been rebuilt after being totalled (salvage title). If they're both in equally good shape the Camry has a lot less to go wrong with it as it gets older.
That's a good deal for both cars and their both going to be great cars to own. The biggest thing to consider is do you really NEED a luxury car like a Lexus. Their going to be quite a bit more expensive to repair and for maintenance and stuff. Either car Scotty always says to be SURE to have a mechanic you trust look over the cars before you buy them and if you buy the Lexus be SURE that the mileage on the car is the actual mileage before buying. People try all kinds of crazy shit to scam people so better safe than sorry
I will get the Camry if both have the same conditions (mileage, maintenance).
I think both have the same engine, but the maintenance, insurance, parts,... on the Camry will be cheaper.
