Older Nissans are pretty reliable make sure to take care of it.
I looked up common problems and my father had a 1994 Nissan Maxima and the most common issues with those 90's Nissans were the engine. Like stalling rough idle etc. Transmissions were pretty bulletproof. The transmissions were actually pretty decent until JATCO started supplying their junky CVT's and weak auto's to Renault/Nissan. This one has either a 4 speed auto or 5 speed manuel, which were both decent, unlike the newer ones.

well its free and 90s nissans are still desirable because of their quality. dont skip maintenance and do floor it, drive conservatively and keep it why not
