Hey, there scotty and community, What do you think company's will do when a EV hits its life cycle? Reason I ask is, a few weeks ago, me and my father drove up to north western Tennessee to pick up a car he was given by a family member. About 10 minutes on the way back we passed a Massive LKQ Junkyard about the size of a Walmart. (This is where it gets good) From when we first pulled up to the LQK til the end of the yard, There were EV cars 5 rows deep, had to of been atleast over a hundred!

These werent just any EV's but 2020-2024 models of Rivian, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Kia, the best part being the 2023-24 Model VWs That are apparently on Nationwide backorder!

These weren't totaled vehicles, but fully assembled, non wrecked EVs with the exception of Wheels missing and shattered glass. No body parts or even front/rear lights were missing, they were just sitting there in a section of their own.

I'm curious what your thoughts are especially considering you cant even buy replacement parts off a junker due to everything needing to be programmed and registered to a vehicle!

That would make sense. The manufacturers aren’t going to do it. They are directing all their resources into new cars. Batteries and other parts for existing cars don’t get government subsidies.
