Hi Scotty, I have a 1993 Ford Probe GT with manual transmission. The car has 112,000 miles on it. It starts up perfectly fine and idles normally for about five minutes but then the RPMs start going crazy shooting up into the mid-3000s and then going back to normal for a few seconds before repeating. A noticeable hissing sound happens when it does that but goes away when the RPMs go back to normal.

Look for vacuum leak(s).

A noticeable hissing sound
follow the sound to the source of the problem. Use a mechanics stethoscope or just piece of tube in your ear.
