Hi Scotty, i have 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Se, With 96,000 miles on it. When ever i go 70 mph or higher, for longer than 30 minutes on the highway. I get a warning on my display that the transmission is over heating to slow down . Sometimes i pull over and stop till it cools down and the warning goes out. Other times i slow way down to 55mph till the warning signal goes away. I had the transmission filters both replaced and had transmission fluid changed. When my dad hooked it up to the scan tool we got a code of, $7e8. Online it says these are air intake codes of some sort. What do you recommend that is wrong with the transmission? What can i do to fix this? This is my only car im still making payments on it and i need it to travel long distance for doctor appointments. Please Help

that's not a trouble code. That's just the transmission location (like your home address).

Refer to you diagnostic tool user  manual.

Does it have a CVT ? Those get really hot.

maybe it was done incorrectly. If it's overfilled it'll foam up and overheat. Make sure the fluid is at the correct level by following a service guide very carefully.

Scotty assumes your transmission cooler is not working or is clogged or the transmission is wearing out at 9:16
