My fiancé and I inherited a 2013 528i xdrive bmw it is 2.0l 4 cyclinder dohc with turbo. It is the n20 engine. And yes it has plastic pieces throughout. We’re just trying to make the best of it because we’re expecting our son to be born on July 4th. I just don’t know where to start and I’m eager to learn.

  • we drove back from Miami to nyc. We parked for 2 days and came to find the engine check light on. So I bought a obd scanner the foxwell nt510 elite.
  • we’re getting a bunch of codes and not sure what do I will list them out for you.
  • 1 thing I want to mention is since registering with bmw they notified me that the cars dme has a open recall and I’m not sure if that could’ve caused some of these problems as it wasn’t really in use for over a year once we got it.

  • I also am not sure if it’s ok to drive it moderately like to the dealership to have them at least change out the dme and update etc.
  • codes were getting:
    1c2002,140210,140301,140302,140304,118401,120408,130f20,140310,1c0102, E1c440,120408,140001,140002,140004, 140010,140202.

any help or advice you can give tips tricks suggestions maybe even a good Indy for bmw I’m in nyc. Thank you so much for your time and any help with these issues or getting me going in the right direction.

The DME manages the engine, so that would be a good place to start
